Allow myself to introduce...myself

I am an English born, American bred over-educated 35-year-old fellow. I speak three languages (four if you count Middle English continental accentual-syllabic metre as one), and have a particularly useless knowledge in the area of Gaelic languages.

The job I'm passionate about is as a part-time college professor who teaches literature and mythology (and has yet to purchase a tweed jacket with leather patches)and my daytime gig is as an editor. I am a sometimes-contributor to literary journals and had the un-enviable pleasure of being a handsomely compensated, un-credited, contributing screenwriter to some dreadful fantasy movies - well, and to one potentially good one that's hitting theaters soon (more on that later).

I'm single but have a young daughter who takes priority in my life. She's just getting old enough to enjoy our travels together, and she's already been to three continents!

I cannot be called a frustrated novelist because I shelved my novel some time ago to travel the world a bit, move around to many cities and delve into some academic pursuits. However, as my boring handle suggests, it is now time for me to crack the spine and re-open my unfinished book. Prospects look good for me because of my previous published work, I have my own agent, and I'm in the early stages of negotiating - now I must finish the blessed thing.

As far as my time here, it's less about me having a blog or journal, and more about meeting some like-minded industry people. Perhaps we could chat a bit about our journeys on the page.
